A few days ago a Winnipeg, Manitoba school boards have voted against the mandatory vaccination for all children going to school. Some parents say that everybody should be able to choose whether their child will or won’t be vaccinated, but others claim that there is a much greater picture of this matter. A few that don’t get vaccinated are a potential threat to the whole population. And, yes, people have the right to choose but only if they are isolated, not if they will affect others with their decision.
But why is actually vaccination important, what do people get with it?
Proper hygienic care will help the child to develop and strengthen. A healthy organism is able to fight against diseases that are common among children due to close contact in school. It is known that the susceptibility to infectious diseases is particularly pronounced in pre-school age; smallpox, big cough, scarlet, diphtheria - most commonly occur in pre-school children. And in school age there is a susceptibility to these diseases; then it is easier to transfer these diseases from child to child because children live in a narrow community, at school.
Therefore, vaccination is implemented in schools for children protection. This vaccination, it is understood, is carried out in small children with success. Only school children are re-vaccinated. By immunization, children gain immunity by creating defenses in their body, so they are able to protect themselves if exposed to infection.
Vaccination protects children from the most severe diseases
Today, we can successfully protect children from certain infectious diseases, and most of the most dangerous, such as tuberculosis, big pox, diphtheria, tetanus, typhus, smallpox, large cough, scarlet, paralysis.
Vaccination against tuberculosis
From tuberculosis, children are immediately vaccinated. Particular trials will later be examined if this protection is still ongoing and, if necessary, re-vaccinated. School children are vaccinated after certain examinations.
Vaccination against big pox
The children in the first year of life are vaccinated from the big pox; this vaccination is repeated in the first and fourth grade of the primary school. Systematic vaccine over the years has been achieved that this terrible disease completely disappears.

Vaccination against diphtheria
And against diphtheria, it is much better to vaccinate children while they are small because diphtheria is an insidious and a dangerous disease. School children must be vaccinated against diphtheria before going to school. This vaccination is also done when enrolling children in primary school, and, if necessary, repeated. The protection from this vaccination lasts several years.
Vaccination of children against tetanus
Today it is possible to vaccinate against tetanus and to protect ourselves before we get hurt. The protection of serum injection, which is given after injury, lasts for a maximum of 14 days, and the protection of the vaccine lasts for several years and for a lifetime. Therefore, it is recommended that this vaccination is carried out in school children because they easily fall during the game and get injured. Lately, vaccination against diphtheria and tetanus - mixed vaccine has been conducted, and now vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus and large cough are produced together.
Vaccination against typhoid
Against abdominal typhoid, school children are vaccinated as needed, before going to a holiday or at work. This procedure prevents the possible occurrence of this disease. In other cases where there is a possibility of infection, school children can be vaccinated against typhoid.
Vaccination against a smallpox and large cough
Vaccination against a smallpox and large cough is very important in infants and young children because if the child is younger, this is why these diseases are more dangerous to live. In some cases, it is also necessary to protect an older child, for example, a child who has been infected with tuberculosis or has just had another infectious disease. Protection against smallpox takes only three to four weeks. Large cough vaccine has a long-lasting effect; school children who have not yet experienced large cough, either a special cough against large coughs or mixed vaccines against a large cough, diphtheria and tetanus, are vaccinated.
Vaccination against childhood paralysis
It is also necessary to vaccinate against childhood paralysis, both pre-school and school children.
Why are children vaccinated?
Unquestionable is the usefulness of such medical measures to protect against infectious diseases. These measures are applied to maintain the health of the child. However, there may be some causes that can’t be carried out or may be delayed. It is, therefore, necessary that the school, as well as any other child, be examined before the vaccination, and to determine his or her condition, or whether the child can be vaccinated or not.
There are special health facilities - school clinics or school clinics - which monitor the development of each student. They need the necessary vaccination in order to protect against infectious diseases, and in particular, the examination and treatment of diseased pupils are carried out. With professional care, healthcare is provided for both students and the entire student community and contributes to the development of a healthy and advanced youth.
